What exactly are iTunes? Can you use a plain old iPod?
I see more and more tv shows are "available on iTunes" but I have no idea how it works. Is it expensive? And how can a person see details of a television show on such a tiny screen? I think it would cause headaches. Is it expensive?
I'm thanking you.

Emma, ITunes is the apple site that allows you to download music/videos/books for an ipod. They have to be purchased, of course. You can also use the site to download files to other devices as well (like other mp3 players or blank cds).
It doesn't cost any money to join ITunes, but you pay for whatever you buy.
Itunes is also the name of the software that lets you download to your Ipod (Apple's version of Media Player).
Oh an theoretically I guess you could watch a tv show downloaded through Itunes on your computer (and yes there is an Itunes for PCs).
What they said.
Songs are .99 each. Albums vary in price.
I am sure I posted that I used itunes when the guilt of not paying gets to me and that I have an ipod video but I can't imagine wanting to watch an entre prog on it cos the screens tiny and that most people probably download and watch on the comp monitor of burn them and play them in a dvd and that you can get itues from www.apple.com/itunes
Itunes is like Napster or Kazaa, but not free.
I use itunes every day to listen to music on my computer. It has a really easy interface for creating playlists; just drag and drop. You can use it for pc or mac. You can get a very inexpensive ipod shuffle for music files; ipod video players are more expensive. I think these types of players are just the tip of the iceberg and you'll be seeing more an more "small screen" technolgies soon. It's worth downloading, even if you never buy a song because you can organize your whole computer music collection, much like picasa.
for not free, read legal. It is however free to download and put your entire cd collection on
And don't forget 'podcasts'! The 5:00 a.m. hour of the Bill Handel show is 98% of the time hilarious. I get to the office at 7:30 and download the show to my computer and listen to it.
I'm told that they podcast list is searchable and you can download, for free, any podcast that strikes your fancy. And since the human imagination is involved, there's a lot of fancy to be struck. And there are video podcasts, too, all free.
and BP will be thrilled to know there are lots of Ham radio podcasts ......... don't do it em.I have t admit I would be lost without my iPod and iTunes although last week on the bus I was listening to something By Razor light and when it finished I heard the girl behind me talking to her friend saying "OMG that womans far too old to be listening to them" :(
Thanks all
