What's your pop culture blindspot?

Entertainment Weekly magazine asked their employees what famous movie/tv/book/etc they've never read. (Harry Potter/Simpsons/Sopranos were covered"

"I've never read a book by any of the big best-selling authors. I mean writers like Tom Clancy, Stephen King (sorry, co-worker once removed!), James Patterson, Danielle Steele, John Grisham, David Baldacci, Clive Cussler, Mary Higgins Clark, Nora Roberts, Dean Koontz, Janet Evanovich (have I left anyone out?). Basically this is because I still think that books, as opposed to TV and movies, are supposed to be ''good for you,'' so I only choose classics — you know, like Dickens and Stendhal — which I never pick up because they're too boring. (Maybe I should change this confession to ''I never read books.'')" — Tom Conroy

I think Tom Conroy's a bit of a snob. But here are some famous, well-reviewed shows past & present I've never seen:

ER
Hill Street Blues
NYPD Blue
Sopranos
St. Elsewhere
Ugly Betty
The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (I'm a Letterman gurl)
Grey's Anatomy

You would have loved the Sopranos and NYPD Blue when Jimmy Smits was on it. - blu

I have seen one episode of House and didn't hate it. I watch ER if it's on reruns, it is far superior to our own version, but have never seen any of the others. I have been told, however, that the Sopranos is well worth watching. You know how I am over anything violent though. I also have not watched 24 or Lost. And yet, I am quite in love with Kiefer Sutherland. I do him and Donald. For free.

Oh you thought of some good ones. I'll add

24
Gilmore Girls
House

Spidey,
the original CSI and Law & Order are divine---all of the spinoffs suck, and if you rent the first year of SITC you'll be hooked. Great writing!

Emma, I haven't seen any on your original list, except St. Elsewhere.
I have never seen Gone with the Wind or It's A Wonderful Life.

I've never watched:

Lost
Survivor
The Bachelor
Ugly Betty
Grey's Anatomy
Jericho
Sex in the City (ok, I've watched a few minutes and wanted to promptly slap every one on the camera)
Deadwood

and I have watched one or two episodes of the Sopranos.

Give me House anyday over that (Ok, I have a mega crush on Hugh Laurie...)

Tom Conroy is way more than a snob.

ER is the only show on that list that I like to watch. Back when we got NBC it was my favorite show.

I'm a Law and Order SVU fiend.

I've seen a couple episodes of the Sopranos and the only thing about it that interested me was that it's filmed in the same part of New Jersey that I'm from, so I recognized some of the landscape.

I've never read James Lee Burke or Sue Grafton. I stopped reading Stephen King after the Tommy Knockers came out, but I was like 16 at that time.

i haven't seen almost anything listed. mainly, i forget to watch the regular channels and am busy watching my favorite show, "how it's made" or "myth busters." i mainly stick to the science channel or discovery channel. my guy likes a lot of stupid crap on comedy central that i tune out, and he likes (ick) fox news.

For me it's easier to list the television shows that I have watched in the last 25 years, they are:

Law & Order (plain, SVU, and the other one)
Monk
House (here and there)
Sopranos
Sex and the City
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Rome
The Extra

That's it.
