This past week NBC's primetime shows featured green themes. The best newer show (it's in its sophomore year and definitely NOT suffering frrom Sophomore Slump!) on TV is Tina Fey's 30 Rock. Al Gore was one of the guest stars--playing himself, natch. Tina--aka Liz Lemon (one of the best sitcom names ever) was talking to him when he paused as if hearing something far off. "Wait, there's a baby whale crying somewhere. I must go help." Funny! The guy can laugh at himself.
Remember his reputation for being Stiff Al during the Clinton years? I think he was probably afraid that he'd do a huge mistep in public and it would haunt him the rest of his political life. Now he's looser, enjoying himself more. The best thing for Al was losing the election to Duyba. Not the best thing for the country, but probably the best thing for Al himself. He's doing what he loves, winning awards and bettering the planet.
What will Dubya do after his political life is over? Hmm, I dunno--go to Crawford and clear brush? Write a book? (snort---yeah, right!)

Twenty years in a cell? With occasional waterboarding? Oh, that would be his third circle of hell, right?
I have come to believe that Bush is a simple person, having come to this simplicity because he was a special child. I hope he plays a lot of golf after he completes his term in office. Simple people enjoy golf.
I am so British.
I think Al was stiff because Bill is a hard act to follow. i didn't like Bill as president, but he was still a hard act to follow.
