renovation

For the last two weeks my work place has been undergoing a total renovation. Ceilings, floors, walls and everything in between. I have been dreading it, anticipating disruption and delays. This outside company was supposed to start on July 7. They started on July 7. They were supposed to finish on July 18. They finished on July 19. And in between these guys were just wonderful: They were pleasant, accommodating and professional. I felt sorry for these seven people: They worked from 7am (I know because it fell to me to be there and let them) until 7pm (I know because it fell to me to be there and lock up after they left.)
Before they left they had moved everything back to its’ original place and clean up ever inch of construction/destruction debris. The place looks wonderful! They told me they were on to Philly next.Tomorrow I’m going to write the company’s owner (he was on site for a few days) and tell him how impressed I was his employees’ work. I hope they’re well paid

isn't it wonderful when someone does what they are supposed to do?

I wrote a letter to L.L. Bean complimenting them on their exceptional customer service. Got a nice note in reply too. It's so unusual to get good service anywhere.
